Midway Reminder at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia-Challenge #131 "Add Some Flowers"

Happy Sunday dear blogging friends!!

Well our clocks "sprung" ahead hear in Canada and we've enjoyed a nice "Spring-like" week here so...fingers crossed...the winter is almost behind us!

Okay onto to today's post!  We are at the midway point of our current challenge at Lovely hAnglar of Sweet Magnolia with our super easy theme being "Add Some Flowers"!  Our most wonderful sponsor is The Ribbon Girl...thank you Mary and Andrea!

Here is what I came up with...
please click on the first image for a closer view/slideshow...
the base was made using the frame die from the "Magnolia Vintage Box-Volume 1"...
the design paper is from the Maja "Enjoying Outdoors" 6X6 paper pad...
the ribbon banner is Joy Craft #6002/0187 layered over some pink chiffon ribbon...
layered underneath Tilda (I pretty much buried this pretty die...lol) is Taylored Expressions "Quatrefoil Cutting Plate" #TE113...
the layered flowers under the ribbon banner were made using Prima #572839, the DP and pink fibre paper...
sweet "Loves Me, Loves Me Not Tilda" from the Love Duo 2015 collection...
coloured with my copics...
dusted with Shabby Pink Frantage...
framed with rhinestone encrusted lace...
I used  Prima die #572822 and cut layers out of the DP and pink fibre paper...
the centre of the flower is from the cut outs of the Taylored Expressions die...
the leaves are cut from Prima #572839...

This is going into my stash so I didn't add a sentiment...I can use it for the next "last minute" card I need and add an appropriate sentiment then!  Now I know that my talented teamies have some gorgeous creations to show you so hop on over to Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia and check it out...then get busy and join us!!  We always love to be inspired by all our crafty friends!!

Fussy and Fancy Challenge #159-"Things with Wings"

Good Friday morning dear blogging friends!!

Today we begin a brand new challenge at Fussy and Fancy!  Our hostess for the next two weeks is our wonderful Annie who has chosen "Things with Wings" as her theme!!  Our sponsor is Sweet Lilac Flowers!

I've been wanting to do this wooden chest that I have had for a while so I thought "Let's go a little Springy and add flowers and butterflies!"  Well this didn't turn out exactly as I had in mind...when I went to get products that I was positive that I had I just couldn't find them...time to sort out the craft room so that I know where everything is!!

Here is what I came up with...
please click on the first image for a closer view/slideshow...
now this was very hard to photograph because of the size...
I couldn't fit it in the area that I usually take my pics in and the lighting where I finally took the pictures wasn't that great...
 the unadorned chest...
I started by inking it up with "Pumice Stone" Distress Ink...
added some texture paste and Shabby Taupe Frantage...
then I sponged on some alcohol inks and topped with a pearlizer...
 another angle...
 the top...
in this arrangement added flowers to some moss and natural fibers...
next came a butterfly..
a tag made using alcohol inks...
I added shabby seam binding, pearls strand and a butterfly...
 the other side...
 closer...
 bottom corner...

And that is my chest finished!!  I think that I'll use it to store some of my lace!  Now I know that my talented Fussy and Fancy Sisters would love for you to pay them a visit!

All materials are listed above.

Until next time...thank you for taking the time to stop by!!  Your visits and comments are SO very much appreciated!!!
