Wishing You...

Hello dear friends!!  It's been a while!!!

I hope that for those of you who celebrate you were able to enjoy a FANTASTIC Easter!!

We had a house full of family and enjoyed a day of fun and LOTS of food!!  We also received some very exciting news that I will share in the coming weeks!!

I have been so busy with work, day to day life and Easter that it has taken me a while to complete a friend of mine's birthday "card"...her birthday was April 6th!!  Until we are able to get together she has been banned from my blog...LOL!!!

So today I finally finished and here is "Wishing You"...

first I must warn you that this is a very picture heavy post...yes it's an Explosion Box...LOL...
please click on the first image for a closer view and slideshow...
this is the front of the explosion box with an acetate window...
a closer view of window and Tilda inside...
the front flap is folded up to see the window better...
the box "exploded"...
all three sides are decorated in the same way...
I kept it fairly simple...I love Maja paper so it's hard to cover up it's beauty...
the lid has an overhang on three sides...decorated with a single large flower and three tiny roses over chiffon ribbon...
the top has an acrylic flower as a knob...
surrounded by flowers, two tags saying Happy Birthday, a butterfly charm, chiffon ribbon and a butterfly cut using a Magnolia Doo-Hickey...
the outside of the top is lined with ruffled ribbon...
inside is a wishing well that I made from paper run through Tim Holtz embossing folder...
surrounded by a white picket fence...
the bucket is a clay pot covered with...yes Frantage...
I made a cobblestone path around the wishing well...
tied to the well are two tags that say Wishing You...
a closer view...
and this is "Hello Little Butterfly" Tilda...
this is Aries Tilda from the Zodiac Collection 2014...
I decorated a pin with some beads, a butterfly charm, ribbon and flowers...
a closer view...
my birthday wishes...
inside view of the acetate window...
pocket created for a gift card...

Hello dear friends!

Welcome to Fresh Brewed Designs April Blog Hop and New Digi Release!
Your first hop stop is at  Freshly Brewed Challenges.
If you have already visited and are arriving
here from Patti's blog, then you are right on track!

We are so happy to have you visiting with us today.

We have been waiting for this hop, and season change, for some time now!
Birds are singing, kids are riding bikes around the neighborhood, pollen has covered everything (well...not quite yet in my neck of the woods),
bees are busy buzzing around newly bloomed flowers  ... SPRING IS HERE (well almost)!

Spring marks the beginning of planting...but we in Southern Ontario we dare not plant yet!!
Actually today we are supposed to have a warm rainy day but tomorrow the forecast is for...
SNOW!!!
So I decided to get a jump on planting my herbs with my very own stylish little herb garden!!
At the front of my garden sits "Daisy Plants" from Fresh Brewed Designs newest digital release...found in the Daffodil and Daisy category!!

I painted an egg tray green...added some Spanish moss, clay pots for my herbs, daffodils and daisies, as well as butterflies cut from my DP paper for decoration and made a little card for the front...
and here is "Daffodil Plants"...
this series features Daffodil with her cat Daisy...
I decorated the front with two small clay pots, daffodils and daisies...
a closer view...

Check this out!
You can purchase these digis as a set for a special
NEW RELEASE PRICE!
This deal, and the hop,  ends on April 16th at 11:59 PM

Liebster Award!!

Hello everyone!!

I am here without a card to show you BUT to share with you a nomination that I recently  received from a special lady Judy Corner!!  Judy is an extremely talented crafter...I call her Fussy and Fancy's "Queen of Shabby Chic"...and yes Judy is a fellow Fussy and Fancy Girl!!  I would like to thank Judy for thinking of me when considering her nominees!!

The Liebster Award is a "chain mail " like format created to bring awareness to blogs that have less than 300 followers.  I, like Judy, don't usually go in for this sort of "chain mail" but I have found that through my blog I have met so many wonderful people and talented crafters... so... if it brings awareness to fellow bloggers...GREAT!!

So for this award I am to link here to the post that has my nomination from Judy and follow the Liebster Award guidelines.

Rules for participating in the Liebster Award:

  • Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog and answer the questions they presented;
  • Link back to the blogger who awarded you;
  • Copy & paste the pink Liebster Award logo to your blog;
  • Nominate 5 blogs to receive the award who have less than 300 followers. Create a new list of 11 questions for them; and
  • Inform them of their nomination.

Here are Judy's questions and my answers!!

1. What aspect of your hobby do you enjoy the most?
That is tough...I enjoy it all but I guess creating 3D projects is my most favourite part..my colouring I consider my weakest aspect!!

2. Do you have a favourite colour?
Well yes...I am a PINK girl!!

3. What do you enjoy cooking the most?
I actually like cooking many things but I would have to say creating a pasta would be it.

4. What do you do to relax?
I LOVE a good soak in the tub with a book!!

5. Do you have anything you save or collect?
OH BOY...you should have a look at my craft room...LOL!!!  Craft supplies aside I would have to say books.

6. Favorite drink?
I can't wait for summer to enjoy a lovely refreshing GIN & TONIC w/LEMON!

7. What do you like to shop for most?

I LOVE shopping period...but I guess my most favourite would be shopping for my Grandkids!!

8. How long have you had your Blog?
I started my blog in July of 2013...so just short of a year

9. What is your best crafty tip?
Just keep your mind open and don't think "I could never do that!!"  Jump right in and remember the old adage "Practice makes perfect"...well I am STILL practicing and WAITING for the PERFECT!!!

10.Do you have a favourite Craft Shop?
There are so many wonderful shops...Live and Love Crafts, Magnolia-licious, The Ribbon Girl, Wild Orchids...just to name a few!!  I have recently discovered Crafts and Me!

11.  What do you do with the cards you make?
Most of my cards are made for a specific person.  There have been some that I have made just to get an idea out of my head and then I haven't been able to part with...those are displayed in my craft room!  So far I haven't been able to create much of a "stash" of cards as time for me is limited!  I am also in the process of creating my very own "Tilda Town" that I hope my Granddaughters will help me to create!!

My nominees for the Liebster Award:
Amy A-Lil Cutie Creations (fellow Fresh Brewed DT member and fellow Canadian)
Linda Levoir-SWG Original Designs
Mary Lou Schroeder-Mary Lou's Corner (fellow Fussy and Fancy DT member)
Vannessa Hasty-Saffire's Stamping (fellow Fussy and Fancy DT member)

My Questions:
1.  What first peaked your interest in "paper" crafting?
2.  In this "paper" crafting world who would you most like to meet in person?
3.  So as a follow up to question 2...If you were able to put together a meeting of the "paper"
crafting minds who would be on your "wish list"?
4.  Your favourite craft shop?
5.  Are you a CAS or fussy and fancy type of crafter?
6.  Your most used embellishment?
7.  Favourite colour?  I know it's repetitive but in this craft colour is such a key!!
8.  Favourite medium to work with when crafting?
9.  What other hobbies do you enjoy?
10.  Where in the world would you most like to visit?
11.  What is your favourite holiday?

Well that ends my Liebster Award post!!!  I hope that you will take the time to visit these incredible blogs for some inspiration and up lifting thoughts!!
